Wingham Court is a care home situated in Oaken Lane for the young and old with diverse needs. The HTC pastoral team supports residents, carers and staff by providing worship services for all in the main lounge, monthly holy communion, pastoral visits to individuals each week and running a small, weekly “mobile shop” for residents.
The Firs, and the adjacent Fawcus Close, are sheltered housing flats and homes owned and operated by Paragon, a housing association representing Elmbridge Borough Council. The HTC pastoral team runs monthly worship services (with much-enjoyed hymns) in the residents’ lounge, and makes occasional visits to individuals. Many friendships have been struck up over the years, and the services are a welcome point on the Firs’ calendar.
Ministers from HTC offer a monthly service of holy communion in the Elm Road Day Centre.
HTC is part of a group of local churches which organise and support the East Elmbridge Foodbank. East Elmbridge foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis. We collect donated non-perishable food items for the foodbank and are also a distribution point for Foodbank vouchers. For enquiries about the East Elmbridge Foodbank, please contact the Church Office.
HTC’s Youth team support and facilitate the Christian Union group at Esher High through their weekly meetings. We also run the Alpha Course providing a safe space for students to explore issues, share thoughts and ask questions about life and the Christian faith.
We also aim to engage with the community at different events throughout the year such as the Claygate Flower Show, Claygate Spring Festival, Elmbridge Teddy Bear’s picnic and at local schools.
