How does the technology work?

We thought it would be a great idea if we use this technology so that you can feel part of the trip and be thinking and praying for us almost in real time. But how does the technology work ...

Mark Chapman (our webmaster: the person who looks after our website) set up this blog.

You are most probably viewing this blog on your computer using a browser (e.g. Microsoft's Internet Explorer).

When we are on the trip all I will have is my mobile phone. In the Ukraine I will not be able to connect my phone to the web directly. However my mobile phone can receive and send emails even in the Ukraine. So Mark has set up the blog so that I can send it an email. As soon as it receives the email, the blog is updated with the contents of my email posted as a new message. And you can then see the new message the next time you open or refresh this page.

So if you want you can keep this page open all the time on your computer and just press refresh to see if I have posted a new message.

Is it just one way? No. If you post a comment to any of my emails. The blog will convert your comment into an email and send it to me in the Ukraine. It will be nice to hear from you and also feel free to ask any questions or anything you want. I can respond to you by posting a reply as a new message.

REMEMBER: A blog is a completely public website anyone whatsoever can read my posting and your comments so bear that in mind.

Thanks

Stuart Sadler
