Our vision is:
Christian FAQs - Sunday 21 March 8pm ‘When does life begin and how should we treat it?’ with Prof John Wyatt who is the Professor of Ethics and Perinatology at UCL. Make sure you do not miss this opportunity for teaching, discussion and time for questions on this important topic.
Passover Supper Tickets are now on sale for this event for the whole church family, both young and old, as we re-enact the traditional Passover meal on Maundy Thursday, 1 April at 6pm and reflect on what it means for us as Christians. Those who attended two years ago will know that it was a wonderfully visual, tasty and interactive way to prepare for Easter.
Tickets - adults £5, children £2.50
Church directory and database update If you filled in the form but do not have access to the internet then you will be pleased to know that a copy of the new directory is in the letter rack for you to collect. If you would prefer a large print copy then do let the office know.
Those with internet access have already been given permission to view their data and the church directory online - and you can even print off your own directory! If you would prefer a paper copy (provided you are already on the database) then please call into the church office - we would ask for a £2 donation towards printing costs.
Fairtrade Fortnight This Sunday (7 March) is the final Sunday in Fairtrade Fortnight when our Fairtrade stall will be open after all four services. Pick up a leaflet from the stall and send a postcard to the big five tea companies as currently only 10% of tea sold in the UK is Fairtrade.
HTC Lent Prayer Guide Please note the following Bible passage changes to the Lent prayer guide “Walking with Jesus”:
5. Worry - should be Luke12:22-28
8. Hatred -should be Luke 6:27-36
Congratulations! Many congratulations to John Alpass who, after much blood, sweat (and probably tears), passed his organ exam and gained a Certificate of the Royal College of Organists (CertRCO). Whilst we of course always knew he was a good organist - it’s now official!
However he has since broken his finger (which has required surgery) and will consequently be out of action until after Easter!
Elections of Churchwardens & PCC At this year’s Annual Meeting (APCM), on Monday 19 April, there will be a number of elections: the annual election for two Churchwardens and also elections to fill five vacancies on the PCC. Nomination forms (which must be completed with a nominee’s statement and photograph) are in the foyer on the Welcome Desk. Completed forms should be returned to the church office and will be displayed in the foyer in advance of the meeting.
Electoral Roll If you are not already on the Electoral Roll and would like to join, please pick up a form from the Welcome Desk and return it to the Church Office by Monday 15 March when the ER will be closed until after the Annual Meeting on 19 April. If you want to vote at the meeting you must be on the Electoral Roll!
Lent Quiet Days Sat 13 & Fri 26 March If you have already signed up for one of Linda Morgan’s Quiet Days at St. Columba’s in Woking, do make sure you collect your letter from the letter rack in the foyer. If you would still like to attend please call into the office and speak to Maureen.
Easter at the Bookstall Do take time to pay a visit to the Bookstall where we have the most marvellous range of Easter cards now on sale - prices start at 25p - plus a huge selection of Easter books for children!
